Iron man By Ted Hughes (The dump) The iron man lives in the dump. Big spider webs scattered all around the dusty, rusty old dumped cars. Not a single bit of clean any where. It was dumped with cans and rubbish bags.

Procedure Writing!!  

Martin the Alien has arrived on Earth and he wants to know how to make a Healthy Hamburger. Here is a procedure, using the correct structure and language, to instruct Martin on how to make my favourite healthy hamburger.

Title:Healthy Hamburgers

Ingredients/Materials:

Sliced tomato

Peeled carrots

1 mince patty

Grated cheese

Aioli

Pices of chips

Slices of pickles

1 White bun

Method:

1. Cut the bun in half with a knife.

2. Place a squirt of aioli on the top lid of the bun.

3.Cook 1 mince patty in a pan.

4.Put the pieces of chips on the bottom bun.

5.Pile a handful of grated cheese on the bottom bun.

6.Put 3 or 4 pickles on the bottom bun.

7.Put five slices of tomato on the bottom bun.

8.Put a handful of peeled carrots on the bottom bun.

9.Place the top bun on top.

10. Eat and Enjoy!

Jump rope

Yipee! It was my favourite day - Jump Rope. I was so excited. My favourite station is long ropes. First we started with our teacher. After that I was exhausted. But next we were going to my favourite one. Yes.

I jumped 67 times and then I tripped. Then it was the next one. Finally we had the jump off.  I was the only one skipping so I stopped because I thought I had won but Max was behind me. After that we all headed back to class.

This is an example of my writing using adverbs

Mmmm! We walk into the lovely patch of scented flowers growing in gardens. Quickly we stroll along the hot burning concrete put together with gluggy footprints. Goodie goodie gumdrop ice cream gets put together as we walk past the ice cream shop. As we walk onto the beach we see people fishing off the rocks and catching big snapper and putting them into big stinky buckets buckets. Slowly we walk along the beach and onto the sharp oysters rocks that look like they have been made into sculptures. Beach umbrellas get put up as we walk further along the burning sand. The smell of hot fish and chips being cooked welcomes us.

Science Fair

My group did balloon rocket for the science fair.

We found out that it doesn't matter how much air you put in the balloon it would still go up the string. But the more air you put in the further and faster it goes along the string.

adverbs

I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.

Happily she unwrapped her birthday present.

Loudly the dog barked at the cat up the tree.

Loudly the lion roared at the person standing outside the window looking at him.

Yippie!! We were just about to board the steam train. As soon as Gabriel started it came with a big bump.My cousins all laughed like a lion roaring at the train. As soon as we got started we could smell  black smelly steam everywhere. Suddenly we went over the bridge. We looked out the window and we could see cars everywhere. It was time to get off. Yay! We waited for dad to bring some more bikes so we were able to get started. Bump bump bump clappity bump. We went through the metal gate. We finally reached the big hill. I had to walk it because it was as steep as a volcano. Then we got to the biggest bridge where the train can’t go over because the track is broken. Then we got to the dark tunnel. There were little holes in the side of the tunnel so I asked my Aunty what they were for. She said, “if people were trapped inside the tunnel they could run into them if the train was coming.” Finally we reached Opua and found a cafe and had some hot chips.Then went to the dairy where the fairy was and got a ice cream. Then we rode back and passed everything we saw last time.

Autumn

AUTUMN

Autumn comes into our world.

The tree becomes bare like someone is getting undressed.

The coloured leaves rot and disappear like magic.

Dew falls from the sky and glimmers in the sunlight

The leaves make colorful patterns like a patchwork blanket.

The trees are bare and look like big bare bones.`

Hunted

One dark night the moon was shining bright. Someone had set a trap. It was a serious hunter.

A small jungle boy peeked out from the trees. He was out searching for food when he smelt something. Rrrrrrrrrrrr! His tummy rumbled. He followed the smell to the roasted, oily chicken. He ran to get the chicken but as he stepped towards it, ‘CRACK’ he went flying down a dark deep hole. His eyes googled with fright and he felt a shiver pricking down his spine. A hunter came and blinded the boy with a camera flash.  Then he tied him upside down. The man flashed a wishbone in front of him. The pulled on it and the boy won. He used the wish-bone to escape without a sound. The hunter shook his head and ran after him with horror. SHIVER! SHIVER! SHIVER! The boy arrived at the edge of a bank and as he turned around the hunter was there. He looked around and saw the camera. He had an idea.  He blinded the hunter and ran. The hunter chased him like a gorilla straight into a cage. In the morning the hunter woke up. “WHHHHAT happened,” he shivered in a small voice. He was in a big cage surrounded by all the small people dancing and singing.

                               What a night mare

One sunny Sunday morning it was snowing with delight. The witch stretched her body up from her lazy sleep and realised overnight a storm must of hit and shipwrecked them on an Island. It was a big sandy island. It was covered with trees with a big garden filled with beautiful roses and flowers.

They decided to go exploring and find something for breakfast when suddenly... “Watch out sophie!!” shouted the witch. They were surrounded with scorpions, dragons and tigers. AAAAAhhhh!!!!  The witch pulled out her magic wand. Abracadabra. All the animals turned into stone. “Yah I completed the task of animals,” shouted the witch. After that it everything turned out just fine. They lived happily on the island.

   

                

rally car driver

Yesterday we had a Rally Car Co-Driver visit our school
Lindsay was a rally car driver in her 20's but now she has changed to a co driver. She's only come first in 1 race and has been on TV lots of times!! Her gear she wears is made of natural fibre so it can't catch on fire if she has an accident. The highest speed she has ever been is 216 km p/hr. She parks her car in a garage at night where a mechanic looks after it .She has been on lots of tracks and raced lots of times.

Yahoo!! The day was about to start. We crept into room 2 and sat down quietly. We were sitting right up the front of the classroom. We were staring at our chrome books. Mine had a bright pink ribbon. I was so excited I was about to burst. Finally Mrs Whitelaw said her short speech. Then they gave out the chrome books. Mrs Henderson put the timer on and everyone started to shout  10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2, 1! We all pulled our ribbons apart and pulled our brown, shiny  boxes open.  “We have finally got our very own chrome books now!” my friends and I bellowed.
