Acrostic Poem

Kia Ora Everyone,
On Wednesday, we did an observation with organs (Lamb hearts and kidneys). Some of us were not very interested in raw meat!  It was so revolting! Then we had to draw a sketch of what it looked like and try and guess what body part it was. Then, the teachers cooked it and some of us ate it. Ours was a Kidney! Today, we wrote about our experience. I decided to do an acrostic poem, here is my writing...

Loose lumpy veins sizzle in the hot pan!
Arteries are sliced and blood covers the plate.
Mushy stretchy elastic stuff gets sawed in half .
Blood leaks out as I screech yuck.

Kissing the meat while putting it in your mouth.
Icky, sticky arteries shaped like a butterfly.
Deadly putrid smell wafts through the air.
Nourishing food for a lion.
Eek!! Veins are sunk in the meat like the Titanic.

Yucky or yummy but not going in my tummy.

Warden Descriptive Writing

Kia Ora everyone,
In the last couple of weeks we started a new book called Holes by Louis Sachar. It is about a boy who gets sent to Camp Green lake which was a punishment for doing something bad. We had to then do an activity and match words to personal details, physical appearance, attitude dislikes and likes and character. Then we also did a descriptive paragraph about the Warden here it is...

Warden Writing

Drawn out red hair is as glorious as rose petals. Nose is covered in small freckles. A hat sits on the top of her head. Transparent earrings dangle from her ears. Grey cowboy hat with a belt strapped around the top of it. Poofy and wavy hair. Walking strictly down the dusty path as stones and dirt flicks up at her flare jeans. Brown luscious eyes are shaped like a boiled eggs. Scarecrow like body, tall and skinny. Hair lays perfectly down her thin back. Rosie red nails glimmer in the sunlight. Lips are the colour of premium honey.
