Kia Ora Everyone,
For the last couple of days we have been writing and editing our writing we wrote on Tuesday. We had to share our writing with a buddy and he of she had to highlight the similes metaphors and more... I wrote about going to Quarry Gardens for Mother's day. So here is my writing.
🖤Mother’s Day🖤
Donk! Hollie woke me up with a hollow tap on my head “What?” I shouted, she walked off. I lay in my cosy bed for a while and then made my way to the lounge. I was at Hollie’s house on Sunday the 14th of May “Oh It’s mother’s day,” Hollie shrieked! Hollie strolled over to her Mum and mumbled Happy Mother’s day and walked off. It was about 10:00 am and Dad was coming to pick me up so we could celebrate Mother’s day with our family. Honk! honk! Dad came racing up the driveway, we chatted for awhile and then we were on the road.
“Yay we’re here” I cackled. We met our family at Quarry Gardens, there was an amazing view. We settled down and got our drinks. We were surrounded with prickly bright green cacti. We raced to the track and we started to make our way to the shimmering blue lake.
We walked for 30 minutes and stopped near tropical plants to have family photos. It felt like I was in a fairytale book! We all chattered to the waterfall as it flowed down an extremely high cliff and into the gigantic lake, bouncing off the lily pads that lay in the bubbly water. We made our way to the look out, Grandma and Grandad leaned against the car as though they were going to fall over. Dad whistled like a pack of howling wolves. We tumbled down the hill. We muttered quick goodbyes.
We all collapsed and tumbled into the car because our legs had been working all day. My stomach mumbled and grumbled as our fun adventure had ended! I felt exhausted!
