Yahoo!! The day was about to start. We crept into room 2 and sat down quietly. We were sitting right up the front of the classroom. We were staring at our chrome books. Mine had a bright pink ribbon. I was so excited I was about to burst. Finally Mrs Whitelaw said her short speech. Then they gave out the chrome books. Mrs Henderson put the timer on and everyone started to shout  10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2, 1! We all pulled our ribbons apart and pulled our brown, shiny  boxes open.  “We have finally got our very own chrome books now!” my friends and I bellowed.

My name is Lani. I am 8 years old. I live in Ohaeawai. My favourite colour is blue. My favourite food is ice cream. My favourite subject is writing. I like to play hockey. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family. In my family is mum, dad, Kaleb and Georgia. My friends are Kate, Kyra, Lilly, Jess, Mikara and Mia I like to go to cheerleading and and play netball. My favourite animal is a baby kitten. I like playing with my dog Rio.
